Product Overview
Important Compatibility Notes
Note 1: The currently available mAT-30 tuner works well with Yaesu FTX-1 Optima (100W or 50W) but is NOT compatible with Yaesu FTX-1 Field (10W). If you use FTX-1 Field (10W), we recommend purchasing the specifically designed mAT-1F tuner.
Note 2: The currently available mAT-30 and other Yaesu-dedicated tuners from our company are designed to work well with existing Yaesu transmitters. Compatibility with future Yaesu transmitters that may be sold later cannot be guaranteed.
Note 3: When the mAT-30 tuner is used with a transmitter having a maximum RF output power of 200W, such as FTDX-101MP, the transmitter will automatically reduce its output power to no more than 100W. This is an inherent setting of the transmitter.
The mAT-30 is an automatic tuner intended for use with modern YAESU transmitters. It works with some YAESU transmitter that supports an FC-30, FC-40 or FC-50 YAESU tuner. The operating is the same as the method of the YAESU tuner, which is simple and convenient.
At present, the mAT-30 does not support FT-817/818. If you operate them, you can choose another tuner: mAT-10, which is specially designed for QRP transmitters and perfectly supports FT-817/818 and other QRP devices.
The mAT-30 connects to the transmitter via its CAT/LINEAR jack to control the tuning cycle. The CAT/LINEAR jack also powers the tuner, so it requires no external power supply.
Compatible transmitters
The mAT-30 can work within the range of 1.8MHz to 54MHz, at power levels up to 120 watts. It will tune dipoles, verticals, Yagis, or virtually any coax-fed antenna. It will match an amazing range of antennas and impedances, far greater than some other tuners you may have considered, including the built-in tuners on many radios.
The mAT-30 has 16,000 frequency memories. When tuning on or near a previously tuned frequency, the mAT-30 uses "Memory Tune" to recall the previous tuning parameters in a fraction of a second. If no memorized settings are available, the tuner runs a full tuning cycle, storing the parameters for memory recall on subsequent tuning cycles on that frequency.
The mAT-30's control cable mAT-CY provides control signals between YAESU transmitter and the tuner. As the figure shows, the control cable have two mini-DIN 8-pin plugs. mAT-CY can also be used by mAT-10 to link YAESU FT-817/818.
Push and hold the transmitter's [TUNER] button for two seconds to start the tuning process. Push [TUNER] quickly to bypass the tuner.
Front Panel Indicators:
- ONLINE - Lights up to indicate that the tuner is online, off indicates that the tuner is in bypass
- POWER - Power indicator light
Rear Panel Connectors:
- ANTENNA - SO-239 jack, connect antenna with 50 ohm coaxial cable
- RF IN - SO-239 jack, connected to the transmitter's "ANT" jack
- RADIO - Connected to the transmitter's "tuner" connector via a mini DIN 8-pin cable mAT-CY
- GND - Connected to antenna system ground
